I am a BACP-registered psychotherapist with an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy and Psychology, specialising in supporting creative and performing-arts students and professionals. My clinical approach is grounded in Person-Centred Experiencial and Emotion-Focused Therapy, with particular attention to emotional processing, identity development, and the relationship between creativity and psychological well-being.
Alongside my psychotherapy training, I have a background in visual arts and theatre performance, which gives me a direct understanding of the psychological demands placed on performers and creative practitioners. I have worked therapeutically with theatre and music students in both short- and long-term settings, supporting clients with performance anxiety, creative block, perfectionism, ADHD/ASD -related emotional and executive challenges, and the impact of evaluation, rejection, and professional uncertainty.
Creative individuals often experience intense internal criticism, emotional sensitivity, and periods of paralysis or disconnection from their creative voice. My approach focuses on helping clients reconnect with their emotional experience, develop self-trust, and build a more stable and compassionate internal foundation from which creativity can emerge.
I also work extensively within higher-education settings as a mental health mentor and psychotherapist, supporting neurodivergent students and those navigating complex academic and identity-related pressures.
My research interests lie at the intersection of creativity, psychological resilience, and idiosyncratic adaptation, with a particular focus on neurodiversity.
